Joan Lo, MD
Dr. Joan Lo is a Research Scientist at Kaiser Permanente Northern California Division of Research, Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and Assistant Program Director for the Kaiser Permanente Oakland Internal Medicine Residency. She received her M.D. at Harvard Medical School, followed by internal medicine residency at Brigham & Women’s Hospital and endocrinology and metabolism fellowship training at UCSF. Her current research is focused on endocrine disorders relating to women and children’s health and chronic disease, particularly in the areas of osteoporosis, obesity and reproductive health. She is also actively involved in graduate medical education, including clinical teaching, program and curricular development, and residency research coordination, with specific interest in residency research mentoring. In 2015, Dr. Lo joined AMWA as a lifetime member.
