Tina Schade Willis, MD

Director, 2020 – 2022

Dr. Schade Willis is a Professor of Clinical Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at Indiana University/Riley Hospital for Children. She completed medical school and residency training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and fellowship in critical care at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She has held numerous leadership positions at Academic Healthcare Institutions including Associate Chief Medical Officer for Quality at the University of North Carolina, Director of the UNC Institute for Healthcare Quality Improvement, Division Chief of Pediatric Critical Care, Service Line Director of Pediatric Critical Care, Medical Director of the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Program, and is currently leading mentoring and wellness programs at Indiana University.

Dr. Schade Willis is a nationally known leader with more than 15 years of experience leading quality and safety initiatives as well as wellness programs utilizing Model for Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, partnering with patients and families, and TeamSTEPPS. One of her many passions is mentoring and coaching leaders to be successful in obtaining and performing in senior leadership positions. In addition, she provides coaching to divisions and departments experiencing conflict, burnout, and transitions.
