Theresa Rohr-Kirchgraber, MD, FACP, FAMWA
Immediate Past-President 2023 – 2024
A California native, with a bachelor degree in chemistry from California State University, Long Beach, a medical degree from Weill College of Medicine at Cornell and a residency in Internal Medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland, she has been a teaching faculty member throughout NY and the Midwest. She joined the faculty at AU/UGA medical partnership in March, 2021.
Dr. Rohr-Kirchgraber led efforts to improve the health of women with outreach programs, statewide collaborations, and influencing policy decisions. Her leadership positions have included being the first Hispanic woman to serve as president of the American Medical Women’s Association and vice-chair of the American Medical Association Women’s Physician Section. An inaugural Fellow of AMWA Dr. Rohr-Kirchgraber has been the recipient of awards that include Outstanding Woman Leader, Innovations in Medicine, Exceptional Mentor, IU Trustee Teaching award, named a Woman of Influence and Excellence in Advocacy.
An internist, her clinical expertise is caring for adults and adolescents with eating disorders, primary care for adults and adolescents especially those with chronic conditions including childhood cancer survivors. Her emphasis is on wellness and the prevention of disease.
