Neelima Navuluri is a member of the Class of 2014 at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and is enrolled in a joint MD/MPH program.

She is originally from Hobbs, New Mexico and graduated in 2010 from Duke University where she majored in International Comparative Studies and minored in Chemistry. She served as co-president for her local AMWA chapter during the 2011-2013 year where she networked and worked with inspiring female students and physicians on a variety of projects and events.

With the help of incredible female mentors, Neelima also established a yearly trip for medical students to volunteer at a shelter for mentally-ill, homeless women in India. As the Region 5 director this year, she is looking forward to collaborating with other chapters, facilitating conversations about ideas for events and meetings, and encouraging more schools to establish or re-vive a local AMWA chapter.
