Allison Holder will graduate from the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in 2015. Throughout her first year of medical school she served as the FIU AMWA branch secretary and has just finished serving a second term on the executive board as co-president. AMWA has provided her with various meaningful experiences such as volunteering with her community, learning about various issues in women’s health and networking with physicians throughout the nation. Through AMWA she and her colleagues have established a monthly program at a women’s shelter to provide education about various health issues including nutrition, cardiovascular health, and women’s health. She is thrilled to be working with AMWA on a larger scale by serving as Region 4 Director.  Through this position Allison plans to support the branches throughout Region 4, organize new branches at medical schools without an active branch, and provide networking opportunities for students and physicians.
