Region 8 Director, Kara Melmed, hails from Phoenix, Arizona, by way of Montreal, Qc. She is interested in health, theater, hiking, and life. She was a founding member of her school’s AMWA chapter, and is happily serving as the regional director for her 2^nd year. Kara is passionate about women’s health, and has enjoyed organizing events to show her classmates why she is so passionate and to perhaps get one or two of them to join one of her several causes! She is also focused on pain research, and is working on garnering a better understanding of it in the hopes of one day alleviating unnecessary suffering.
