AMWA backs reintroduction of pregnant workers bill
The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act would require employers to provide reasonable accommodations to those pregnant workers who need them to continue safely working during pregnancy, providing the same rights to workplace accommodations that are currently provided to workers with disabilities. It would ensure that pregnant women are no longer forced to ignore their doctors' advice in order to keep their jobs.
AMWA has signed a letter supporting the bill's reintroduction, and encourages others to sign on by Feb. 15. To sign on, please email Amy Tennenbaum at atannenbaum@nwlc.org. Click here for more information.
