The American Medical Association House of Delegates Annual Meeting was held in Chicago June 16-20, 2012. Nancy Church, MD (AMWA Delegate to AMA), Theresa Rohr-Kirchgraber, MD (AMWA Representative to the AMA Women Physicians Congress Governing Council) and Bonnie Hamilton, MD (AMWA Alternate Delegate to AMA) attended.

The WPC Governing Council elected AMWA’s Theresa Rohr-Kirchgraber, MD as its Vice-chair. AMWA’s Nancy Church, MD was elected to the Governing Council of AMA’s Organized Medical Staff Section. She is the only female member currently and only the second female member ever elected to the Governing Council of the OMSS.

Testimony by the AMWA Delegation, including Drs. Church and Hamilton, helped persuade the reference committee to recommend supporting many issues. For the size of AMWA's organization compared to the AMA, AMWA was especially visible speaking up for the women's agenda. The Delegation demonstrated that AMWA can and does have influence.
