March 17-18: Region 7 Simulation/Skills Weekend
Good Morning Ladies,
The American Medical Women’s Association branch at the University of Missouri will be hosting a simulation/skills weekend March 17-18 for Region 7 members. Saturday will be filled with skills labs, including intubation, venipuncture, and ABG draws including a session with our birthing mannequin that will take you through various labor and delivery situations. Region 7 Director, Julie Stuppy, is working on developing a suture lab. There will also be panels and lectures throughout the weekend, including a “Motherhood in Medicine” panel to help you learn how to balance being a mother and a physician. Lastly, this is a great way to network with other members of the region!
In order to help the Simulation center prepare for the event, Julie would like to start getting a head-count. Please reply to Julie Ann Stuppy region7@amwa-student.org within the next few days with an estimate on how many members from your school will be in attendance for this event. She does not have a set registration fee yet, and some of it will depend on how many attendees we get, but she doesn’t anticipate the cost being more than $10-15, hopefully even less than that.
Sincerely,
The American Medical Women’s Association
