     The American Medical Women’s Association is honored to have Josephine Ojiambo, MD, MPH, Ambassador, Kenya Mission to the United Nations, as a speaker at AMWA’s 97th Annual Meeting in Miami, Florida. Dr. Ojiambo’s topic is “Global Women’s Health.” 

      Dr. Josephine Ojiambo is an Ambassador/Deputy Permanent Representative at the Kenya Mission to the United Nations. Prior to representing Kenya at the U.N., she managed a Public Health Consultancy. She has also worked for the Kenya Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Planning and National Development and other government departments. She is an acknowledged resource in the area of gender and development and for increasing women’s participation in public, political and community life. Dr. Ojiambo holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and Community Medicine as well as a degree in Medicine and Surgery.
