Anne C. Carter, MD
In honoring the achievements of AMWA's student members, we remember Dr. Carter's dedication to the welfare and success of all women medical students. Dr. Carter's life was a celebration of what women can achieve and contribute to others. For many years, Dr. Carter was Trustee of the Financial Aid Fund of AMWA's New York Branch 14, served as Chair of the Student Loan and Scholarship Committee, and sat on the Foundation Board.

Medical Education Scholarships (Need-Based)
We at national AMWA know that the cost of medical education can be daunting and sometimes frightening, so we'd like to help. Supporting your medical education is important to us, and in this light, we are excited to announce that AMWA will be awarding two $1000 scholarships to women currently enrolled in medical school. Awardees will be chosen based on need as well as embodiment of the goals of AMWA.
Completed applications, including recommendation letters, are due to awards@amwa-student.org by July 1st (First deadline) or December 1st (Second deadline) at 12:00pm PST of the year. Applicants will be notified of the panel's decision within 30 days of the application due date.

Anne C. Carter Leadership Award
AMWA honors the memory of Anne C. Carter, MD, with an annual $1,500 award for outstanding student leadership. The annual nomination deadline is December 15. Learn how to submit a nominee here.
Local Chapter Grants
AMWA will offer 3 (three) grants per semester, for a total of 6 (six) grants per school year, with each grant totaling up to $300. Applications are due October 1st at 12:00pm PST for events occurring during the Fall semester, and January 1st at 12:00pm PST for events occurring during the Spring semester. Regional Conference Grants
Each region, through their respective RSC, may apply annually for one $600 Regional Conference Scholarship. Up to 8 (eight) grants will be given nationally per year. This scholarship is to be used solely by Regional Student Coordinator to assist in funding regional conferences. The AMWA Regional Conference Scholarship Application must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the conference dates to ensure a prompt disbursement of funds.
National Meeting Travel Grants
AMWA students are eligible for up to $300 for use in travelling to the National Meetings. Applications will be made available prior to the next National Meeting.
